Yes please. My own contribution are limited, due to time, but the OTP team abd everyone contributing are really making a lot of stuff happen under the hood.
On top of this, the JIT makes it easier to debug and observe code in production. It may seems like a strange thing to say, JIT usually “obfuscate” what is happening or makes it harder to debug, but the implementation the OTP team chose is not that. On the contrary, it makes tools like perf and eBPF far more useful and easier to read and interpret than previously.
If only to get the perf compatibility, the JIT would have been worth it.
Interesting read! Seems like a lot of good work is being done on the BEAM and Elixir. Guess it’s time to upgrade :-)

Yeah I’m constantly amazed by what the team managed to accomplish - both all those decades ago as well as just today.
