    The responses are also worth a read. Namely, you can go cynical (they’re lying so everyone’s guard drops) or positive (don’t look for perfect security, that doesn’t exist. Instead, let’s let Apple fight the NSA as much as possible, even with NSLs)

    Though I’m still holding out for an open-source IM protocol to finally reach critical mindshare like iMessage or Hangouts have.

      Does there even exist an open-source IM that can compare with iMessage and Hangouts? XMPP has some fundamental design flaws that makes it a bad options. For instance the fact that messages are not delivered to all devices…
