I’ve only ever heard bad things about integrated/discrete GPU switching (like an extra few % battery life in exchange for random freezing and breakage) and AFAIK Intel does not sell consumer grade processors without iGPUs anymore, so this seems like a totally reasonable thing to do.
FWIW, I’ve had several macs with integrated/discrete GPUs and not had any issues with them dynamically switching (in macOS, I haven’t tried running other OSes on them for more than futzing around).
For awhile I even had a homebrew Thunderbolt 2 eGPU that I used to drive my Oculus DK2.
Is there a not video version?
