~C is nice if you realize that you need a forward when you already have a connection open, or if you’re using some tool that makes an SSH connection for you, but doesn’t give you easy access to the commandline.
~C is one of the most used escape sequences for me as it is not always clear from the beginning that I need a forwarding. I also have the feeling that many people don’t know about it.
