Nearly ten years ago the ReactOS Project released version 0.3.0. Today we are proud to announce the formal release of version 0.4.0.
I wonder why they are moving so slowly on the versioning. If it boots on actual hardware and can run a handful of Windows apps, release a 1.0 already. Nobody’s expecting it to be perfect.
Remember, projects like this have expenses and ReactOS is no exception. Donations to ReactOS are tax deductible and they accept many different forms of payment. ReactOS has been on my list of year-end donations for a few years and I’ve been very pleased with the progress that such a small team has made over these years. My donations are small, but I feel like they make an impact.

Took me forever to realize this is like wine the operating system. kinda neat. Windows without the windows.
