This was rather pleasant to compile. I tried to get neovim going on my dev machine at work a while back but ran into dependency hell.
Weird thing is that gtk3 didn’t seem to work too nicely over x11. The menus were extremely laggy. The gtk2 GUI is very zippy in all regards. Vim feels new again :)
Yeah, I found compiling to be trivial and pleasant for vim. it just worked. My configure was simple too. Just set a couple of options to get what I wanted.
