A minor addition that’s not mentioned in the release notes but which I’m very happy to see is they’ve pulled in the recent Debian upstream apt changes to fix the inherent race condition on updating package repositories. If you’ve run a Debian based system for long enough you’ve almost certainly seen a “Hash Sum Mismatch” error after updating repository lists.
It’s a bit sad that Unity8 is not supported yet. I wonder if Canonical will ever be able to deliver on that, et what it means for the future of Ubuntu.
Nice to see that moving the launcher to the bottom is finally supported. Also snaps look interesting.
