I don’t know. Maybe because they are deeply invested in Linux, and they think that the cost of improving the network stack will be lower than the cost of improving other things they will miss in FreeBSD?
This was pretty surprising (to me anyway): “Improve IPv6 support in the kernel, and eliminate perf and stability issues. FB is one of the worlds largest IPv6 deployments”.
Makes me wonder why they don’t just use FreeBSD (or use and improve it).
