This seems extremely powerful. I am thinking of this like an iSCSI-like protocol and implementation, that can be used for local volumes, remote volumes, portable disks, across VMs, within VMs kind of thing.

I guess if this makes into a browser standard, then web browsers can finally have local protected storage that can be used to write full-featured stateful apps across devices.

am I thinking in a wrong direction?
