FLAVOR is an awesome concept. I am not aware of any other package manager in UNIX land that implements the same functionality. Basically, it allows providing packages compiled with a different set of options.
This is child’s play for Nix. A tiny side-effect of its power. But maybe I don’t understand the feature, or maybe “UNIX land” isn’t meant to contain Linux.
