I flagged this as spam, in the sense that this is blog spam that adds nothing to the original article. Please let me know if I was incorrect in doing this.
I find these links more helpful:
I am not sure why folks are saying that the claims are bullshit.
The dude who wrote the second post you lined to left LinkedIn in 2009. He was on the team that built the rails system that was replaced with node long after he left. Choice quote from his blog post: “I don’t think there is any question that v8 is freakin’ fast. If node.js blocked on I/O, however, this fact would have been almost completely irrelevant.”
That said, I agree with you that the post was blogspam, and thanks for posting those links!
I have a hard time believing someone just walked up to Linus while he was glancing pensively out a coffee shop window and starting throwing questions at him. Probably because I have some asinine fear of Linus Torvalds.
I’m not sure why I don’t use bitbucket. I have to imagine it’s either a) because it’s made by Atlassian or b) because everyone else seems to use github. More the latter, I imagine.
There is a discussion on “why do you use github” on the discussion page for Leaving Github
I love bitbucket, but then again I use hg
agreed, it’s the latter. Github even says it on their homepage, “GitHub is the best way to collaborate with others.”
bitbucket says, “Unlimited DVCS Code Hosting, Free.”
Free isn’t an advantage. There’s no shortage of free git hosting: Assembla, Codeplex, and I’m sure many others. So I keep my private stuff on Assembla and public on Github.
