Amazing how Mozilla marches Firefox to it’s own death. Just more horrible interface options and zero creativity except to mimic Chrome.
The cartoon characters are unappealing. I realize this is a subjective opinion, regarding taste, but for a utility to adopt a mascot, or anthropomorphic-character-oriented motif, very careful consideration must be given to the degree of “cutesiness” expressed.

Viewed repeatedly, one takes on a sense of irritating condescension while the other does not.
Part of the hype is that too many people depend on AWS. Thus the more people talking about the problem, the more people think it serious.
I use Firefox because Firebug and most of the extension are way better than on Chrome. I hate supporting Google who has gotten too big. The bookmarking system is a hundred times better and I bookmark tons of sites. Fast Dial is amazing for managing daily bookmarks. I like having toolbars and hate the minimalism of Chrome. The themes are nice in Firefox. I also use Firefox on Android as I can install ad-blocking software.
Vivaldi looks like it will be great and I might replace Firefox with Vivaldi, but it has a couple of deal breakers for me. There is an issue with not being able to put text in the search tab and then switch tabs and still have your search text there. Also the developer panel can’t open as part of the window, it always opens as it’s own window.
I am currently using Firefox, but I have been switching over to Vivaldi as you can now use the developer tools. My big issue was that I bookmark tons of websites. Vivaldi is like Firefox in regards to bookmarks and way better. I still like the extensions in Firefox better, like Firebug as they much more robust. Anyway I can live Vivaldi. I think it will be interesting to see what happens when Firefox comes out with it’s new Rust engine for rendering websites.
I’ll give Vivaldi another look. I love the idea of a broweser written in a language that makes it “turtles all the way down” - typically way more extensible that way. I tried it when it first came out and it was a bit too rough around the edges for my needs.
