This is my last week up at Uni for research over the summer, and I’m presenting at the conference the school puts on for undergraduate research, so that should go well. My main topic for the summer was looking into the ExoGENI platform for networking infrastructure.

Otherwise, I’m completing the lab build for our CS lab as well as starting a project on collecting a detailed history of our lab through the 15 years it has existed.

Finally, I have begun reading The Go Programming Language book by Kernigan and Donovan.

The spring semester at my University ended last week, so I now have a reasonable time do some personal research. I am looking into Natural Language Processing and thought a simple Markov chain generator would be a fun project to build. I’ll likely use Python since it will be fairly easy to build up quickly.

I am going to be heading back up to school for the upcoming semester Wednesday, So I am going to pack up tomorrow. Otherwise, I am going to do a little refactoring of a ruby gem I created a few weeks ago (cosi-temp), and redesigning a startpage that contains relevant links to sites I go to often.

Technical: I have about 2 ½ weeks left of break, so I am planning on continuing work on a new website for my University’s Mirror that our CS Labs manage. I’m also going to try to complete the rest of Advent of Code.

Non-Technical: I am finally getting around to reading The Martian starting today.
