Where the 3d view exists and is complete, it looks like they might be using both a much higher resolution heightmap, as well as street view imagery.
Hopefully with the standardization of webassembly, we can hope for more experiences like this that aren’t limited to Chrome/PNaCl.
Very cool, but it’s pretty disappointing that it’s limited to chrome. It might as well be a desktop application at that point.
Says it will be available for other browsers “in the near future”, so may be waiting on them to implement wasm or something.
