Great read. I’ve always found the highest barrier to overcome is always cost (it was touched on a bit in the article). The reason I’ve never had a staging environment I could trust was always because I couldn’t make it a clone(ish) of prod due to budget restrictions not any technical barrier or lack of load, etc.

I’m really curious about this point, because it is a common argument. How much do you think it would cost your company to set up a proper staging environment? As I see it, downtime and developer hours are usually so much more expensive than building one.
