I’m against apps that are just wrappers for web services. I don’t need a wrapper when i could just open a browser I trust patches their vulnerabilities (nod to Firefox). Every electron app eats so much RAM, it’s stupid. And in the end, I’m just using a browser making API calls, why do i need the wrapper?

Nice idea! The thing I love about C is that all sorts of programming language can talk to its ABI and that it fits well with low-level programming. However, it is a cumbersome and unsafe language. This seems like a very nice solution. You can write in a much safer language while producing C code which does not look too alien relative to what you wrote

I have been interested in Rust but thinking it looks a tad too complicated. This may be a happy inbetween.

As an aside, what’s this called?

Just like Javascript transpiled languages are good for the frontend web people who don’t want to use Javascript but can’t move from Javascript, and VMs are good for the operating systems people who don’t want to use Unix but can’t move from Unix, ZZ is good for the closer-to-hardware people who don’t want to use C but can’t move from C. Never mind the imperfect analogy, is there a name for this class of ‘solutions’?

From the site admin site that’s the summary they want to see after finding and fixing the vulnerabilities? What about how to prevent it for next time?

I find git bundle useful for a lot more than emailing an entire repository. Also useful for tons of other situations in which you can’t access an online repository. You can put any individual commits into a bundle and treat it as a remote. I used git-bundle to update code on airgapped machines with repository of dozens of GB.

I find his career is inspirational. That’s because he succeeded making curiosity a priority. Never would have guessed a perl guy who wrote memcached to solve livejournal problems would move on to go. And that only to walk away for something even more interesting. Really excited to see what comes next.
